The Middlesex Pellerin Shapiro Memorial Bandstand Concert Series presents the Green Mountain Brass Band in concert at the Pellerin Shapiro Memorial Bandstand at the Rumney School in Middlesex on Thursday, August 9 at 6:30 pm. This concert will include a variety of traditional, contemporary and popular band concert music. The concert is handicap-accessible. Admission is free.
The Brass Band has 26 members and features Cornets, Horns, Trombones, Baritones, Euphoniums, Basses, Drums & Percussion. The Band draws its musicians from northern Vermont's musical community.
Bruce McRae will be the Guest Bandmaster. Bruce is a graduate of the UVM School of Music with a Bachelor of Music Education. He has taught music at Bellows Free Academy of Fairfax since 1973. He plays and teaches privately the trumpet and French horn. He is a member of Horns Borealis and a charter member of Vermont Jazz Ensemble. A native of Island Pond, Bruce now resides in Milton with his wife and family. In his spare time, he enjoys flying over Vermont as a private pilot.
