2006 Waterbury Concert
Rusty Parker Memorial Park

Tuesday, August 22, 2006 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm

The Green Mountain Brass Band will perform a concert at the Rusty Parker Memorial Park on Tuesday, August 22 at 7:00 pm. The Band is giving this concert for the Town of Waterbury in appreciation of the generosity of the Thatcher Brook Primary School for providing the Band with a place to rehearse. The concert will include a variety of traditional, contemporary and popular band concert music. The Park is handicap-accessible.

The Brass Band has 27 musicians playing Cornets, Horns, Trombones, Baritones, Euphoniums, Basses, Drums & Percussion. The Band draws its musicians from jazz bands, concert bands, and orchestras in the Vermont community.

Peter Bouchard will be the Guest Bandmaster. Peter is a graduate of the University of Vermont (UVM) and Peabody Conservatory of Music. He has conducted the Burlington Concert Band, Lyric Theatre, Winooski Valley Music Festival and the Vermont Brass Collective. He is an Affiliate Artist of Trombone at the UVM and has performed with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra since 1986, the Vermont Brass Quintet, the Vermont Symphony Orchestra Brass Trio (Musicians in the Schools), Opera North since 1991, the Vermont Mozart Festival Orchestra, and the Hanover Chamber Orchestra. He has studied trombone with C. Robert Wigness, James Olin (Baltimore Symphony Orchestra), Peter Norton (Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra) and James Box (Montreal Symphony Orchestra).

The Green Mountain Brass Band will present a concert on Tuesday, August 22 at 7:00 pm in the Rusty Parker Memorial Park on Main St in Waterbury. This concert given in appreciation of the generosity of the Thatcher Brook Primary School, will include a variety of old and new concert band music. Vermont State Parks is disounting their admission fee for this this end-of-season event. Enjoy an old time band concert in the Rusty Parker Memorial Park with the Green Mountain Brass Band.
